Brett is a graduate of the University of North Texas and the University of Kansas School of Law. He has practiced law for over 40 years representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases ranging from simple automobile cases to franchise disputes to complex tort litigation and is currently the founding partner of Coonrod Law LLC He is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri although he has been involved in cases throughout the United States in both state and federal courts.
Brett is also a trained mediator. He is an approved mediator of the Kansas Supreme Court, is on the panel of mediators for the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri and is also an approved arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and for Arbitration Resolution Services. Brett also serves as a volunteer mediator for the Johnson County, Kansas dispute resolution program.
Brett lives in Kansas City, Missouri and is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The American Theater Guild.
